2.5-hour experiential workshop

Ease Your Lower Back

with Feldenkrais

22nd November 2026, 15:00-17:30
📍 Thrive Studio Merl, Luxembourg
Price: € 75

Stiffness in the morning, tension while sitting, sometimes even pain during everyday movements... Lower back discomfort has particular ways of affecting our lives and unfortunately has become a familiar companion for many. What we often don't realise is that back issues rarely exist in isolation - they're connected to how our entire body organises itself in movement.

While traditional approaches often focus on strengthening exercises or stretching routines, the Feldenkrais Method takes a different path – exploring how your entire body works together to support your spine in every movement you make.

In this 2.5-hour workshop, you'll experience gentle, mindful movements that reveal the connections between your pelvis, hips, shoulders, and even your breathing pattern – all of which influence the comfort and function of your lower back.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Understand the relationship between habitual movement patterns and back discomfort

  • Learn gentle techniques to release unnecessary tension in your back, pelvis, and surrounding areas

  • Discover how improved movement organisation can create better support for your spine

  • Experience how small and gentle, yet precise movements can lead to significant improvements in comfort and mobility

The Feldenkrais approach doesn't force your body into "correct" positions but instead invites your nervous system to discover more efficient, comfortable ways of moving. As you explore various movement lessons, you'll begin to sense how your whole self participates in supporting your back, potentially revealing options for movement that feel both novel and surprisingly natural.

This workshop is suitable for anyone experiencing lower back discomfort, stiffness, pelvic or hip tension, or those simply wanting to move with more ease and freedom. The gentle nature of Feldenkrais makes it appropriate for various conditions, including general back pain, disc issues, and recovery from back injuries.

The only prerequisite is for you to be able to lower yourself down to the floor and stand back up, either independently or with the support of something to lean on.

What is Feldenkrais?

Feldenkrais is a method of somatic education and it is all about experiencing

It uses gentle, mindful movement to calm down your nervous system, and realign the organisation of your whole body.

As you explore yourself in movement during this Feldenkrais practice, you'll explore and expand your movement capabilities, and start rewiring old habits that might be keeping you stuck in tension. You’ll experience how subtle, simple movements
can lead to profound changes, starting right where you are. 🌿

“Movement is life, life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”
