Happy Feet, Happy Body:

Feldenkrais for Foot Comfort and Whole-Body Balance

30th August 2026, 15:00-17:30
📍 Thrive Studio Merl, Luxembourg
€ 75

Our feet are the foundation of our body's structure, yet they're often overlooked until they cause us discomfort. These remarkable structures - with 26 bones, 33 joints, and over 100 muscles, tendons, and ligaments in each foot - are engineering marvels designed to support us through countless steps in our lifetime.

When our feet lack mobility or sensitivity, the effects ripple throughout our entire body. Poor foot function can lead to knee pain, hip discomfort, back issues, and even affect how we hold our head and neck. Yet most of us have never been taught how to use our feet optimally or how to maintain their natural flexibility and intelligence.

In this 2.5-hour Feldenkrais workshop, you'll discover the profound connection between healthy, responsive feet and your overall well-being. Through gentle, mindful explorations, you'll awaken new awareness in your feet and legs that can transform your standing, walking, and overall movement quality.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Discover how your feet influence your posture, balance, and movement efficiency

  • Learn gentle techniques to increase foot mobility, arch support, and toe articulation

  • Experience how awakening your feet can release tension in your knees, hips, and back

  • Explore new walking patterns that distribute weight more evenly and reduce strain

The Feldenkrais approach to foot awareness isn't about corrective exercises or stretching. Instead, you'll engage in subtle, pleasurable movements that help your nervous system discover more optimal patterns. These explorations can help address issues like plantar fasciitis, bunions, hammer toes, arch problems, and general foot pain by improving how your feet function rather than just treating symptoms.

As you reawaken the natural intelligence of your feet, you may notice improvements in balance, walking ease, athletic performance, and even the way your entire posture organises itself. Many people are surprised to discover how much lighter and more comfortable their whole body feels when their feet become more responsive and articulate.

This workshop is suitable for anyone interested in improving their movement quality, addressing foot discomfort, or enhancing their understanding of whole-body connectivity. No prior Feldenkrais experience is necessary.

The only prerequisite is for you to be able to lower yourself down to the floor and stand back up, either independently or with the support of something to lean on.

What is Feldenkrais?

Feldenkrais is a method of somatic education and it is all about experiencing

It uses gentle, mindful movement to calm down your nervous system, and realign the organisation of your whole body.

As you explore yourself in movement during this Feldenkrais practice, you'll explore and expand your movement capabilities, and start rewiring old habits that might be keeping you stuck in tension. You’ll experience how subtle, simple movements
can lead to profound changes, starting right where you are. 🌿

“Movement is life, life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”

Moshe Feldenkrais
