Mindful Movement lessons
with Iryna

Mondays and Fridays,
19:30 - 20:30 CET (via Zoom)

The Mindful Movement lessons are based on a range of somatic education techniques, which focus on learning how to use your body in a more efficient and at the same time more easy, pleasant, and pain-free way through gentle series of movements.

Based on neuroplasticity, these lessons take us back to the exploration of movements from early developmental stages, creating a profound, foundational change in how we move and use our bodies. They can help to unlock movement patterns and change habits from the core, allowing us to move beyond limitations, including overcoming stress- and movement pattern-related chronic pain.

Who would benefit from lessons?

These lessons are beneficial for people with chronic pain or strong muscular tension, as well as for people who want to improve and refine their skills in any kind of movement activity (sportsmen, dancers, etc.). They can also provide relief for people with chronic stress or burnout, resulting in a sense of calm and feeling grounded in one's own body.

The outcomes of the lessons are a bit different for everyone (as everyone's situation is unique), however, most people experience:

  • improvement of posture and movement,

  • release of muscular tension,

  • decrease in chronic pain,

  • feeling more calm and relaxed,

  • better quality of sleep.

Dancers

“Movement is life, life is a process. Improve the quality of the process and you improve the quality of life itself.”

Moshe Feldenkrais

When and where?

The lessons take place on Mondays at 19:30 and Fridays at 19:30 CET. These will be two separate groups following different lessons, but you can also choose to attend both if you’d like to. Each lesson is self-sufficient, so you can join any of the lessons and follow it without any problem.

For the current two-months series, the schedule is as follows:

  • Mondays: 31 Oct, 7 Nov, 14 Nov, 21 Nov, 28 Nov, 5 Dec, 12 Dec, 19 Dec (8 lessons)

  • Fridays: 4 Nov, 11 Nov, 18 Nov, 25 Nov, 2 Dec, 9 Dec, 16 Dec, 23 Dec (8 lessons)

The lessons take place online via Zoom, giving you an opportunity to join from the comfort of your home. A lesson typically lasts between 45 min and 1 hour.

NB: If you’d like to fully benefit from the lesson, please be on time. Taking a few minutes to calm down and mentally prepare for the lesson will improve the quality of your experience during the lesson itself and enhance the benefits your receive from it.

What does the lesson look like and what will I need?

During the lesson, you will follow my guidance and do a series of gentle movements exploring your body's capabilities and sensations. Some lessons are calmer, others are a bit more active. Every movement will be approached with the idea of safe exploration within the limits of your own comfort.

To make your experience the most comfortable and enjoyable, please prepare the following:

  • quiet room

  • comfortable floor space (big enough to spread both arms to the sides)

  • computer or laptop with a webcam (so that I could see you from head to toe when you are lying during the lesson)

  • warm and comfortable clothing (most people underestimate the number of layers they need for a comfortable staying on the floor for some time, even on a warm day 😉)

  • a mat or rug to lie on (could be covered by a blanket for more comfort)

  • something for head support (a big-size towel or blanket will work great).

Dancers

"Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live."

Jim Rohn

If I cannot join a lesson, will there be a recording?

Yes, if you cannot join the lesson live, you will have an opportunity to follow it with a recording.

Lessons are recorded (in audio format) and are available to participants for one month after each lesson.

How much does it cost?
These lessons are donation based. While such lessons are typically priced around 15-20 EUR per lesson depending on location and teacher, you can donate as much as you feel you benefit from the lessons, or as much as you feel comfortable based on your circumstances. You can donate in one go for the whole series (8 or 16 lessons over the 2-months period) or per lesson, whatever suits you best.

The donation is to be sent to the following bank details:

Iryna Sagaidak
IBAN: LU78 0019 5455 7659 1000
BIC: BCEELULL

How big is the group?
The group is kept fairly small (up to 6-8 people maximum) so that I can follow well each student during the lesson and adapt the flow of the lesson based on my observation of your needs.

Can I invite my friends?

Sure! If you know anybody who might benefit from these lessons, please feel free to share a word. If they'd like to give it a try and join for one lesson or whole series, they are more than welcome!

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at iryna@mindfulbody.lu.

I am looking forward to sharing this personal exploration experience with you! 🙂

Warm regards,
